Moturiki Island Rural Water Project

Moturiki Island consists of ten (10) villages namely Savuna, Nasesara, Navuti, Nasauvuki, Wawa, Uluibau, Daku, Naicabecabe, Niubasaga and Yanuca village. With a total household count stands at 286 and a population of approximately 858, these villages currently rely on rainwater and village wells for their daily water needs. The $3.2 million project which is currently underway will supply water from a gravity water supply system sourced from a water source at Navuloa Village, Ovalau Island with a yield of 3.45MLD. So far, the laying of pipe from the water source to Wainaloka Village and the construction of one of the two reservoirs on Moturiki Island has been completed with the laying of submarine cable currently underway.
