Roles & Responsibility
The Ministry is directly responsible for the formulation of policies, planning, design, regulation, coordination, and implementation of programs, projects, and services which are part of the Government infrastructure sector in Fiji.
The Ministry consists of:
- Department of Energy
- Department of Building and Government Architects
- Department of Works
- Department of Water & Sewerage
- Department of Meteorological Services
- Department of Transport
- Department of Government Shipping Services.
- Department of Corporate Services
These areas encompass public works, water and sanitation, energy, as well as meteorology and hydrology. The ministry plays a critical role in transportation services, both on land and at sea. Additionally, it provides policy and legislative oversight for several authorities, including the Fiji Roads Authority, Water Authority of Fiji, Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji, and the Land Transport Authority.
